Halep wins Doha crown

Doha, Qatar (SportsNetwork.com) - Romanian Simona Halep defeated German Angelique Kerber 6-2, 6-3 in Sunday's final at the $2.44 million Qatar Open tennis event.
The seventh-seeded Halep saved all four break points and broke the sixth- seeded Kerber's serve four times in the 66-minute triumph on the hardcourts at Khalifa International Tennis Complex.
Halep, 22, improved to 7-3 in career finals, while the 26-year-old Kerber fell to 3-7. She also lost to Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova in Sydney last month.
