Guidetti's brace leads Feyenoord over Vitesse

John Guidetti scored twice in the first game losing skid with a comfortable 4-0 win over Vitesse on Sunday at the GelreDome in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Guidetti opened the scoring after 4 minutes and, after Ron Vlaar added to the lead in the 32nd, completed his brace before halftime with his second goal in the 42nd. Guidetti has six goals this season.

Sekou Cisse scored another goal for Feyenoord early in the second half, as the visitors claimed their third road win in seven away games this season. Vitesse lost for the first time at home in six games this season.

Feyenoord closed to within 10 points of leaders AZ Alkmaar, which had its game Sunday against last-place Excelsior suspended at halftime because of fog, and Vitesse remained 10 points back also as one of five clubs on 21 points.

Groningen joined the group of clubs on 21 points with a 2-1 win over 10-man Venlo on Sunday, as Leandro Bacuna and David Texeira scored to help their side overcome an early deficit.

Yanic Wildschut scored early for Venlo, but Andrea Mei was sent off before the half-hour mark as his club lost its sixth straight on the road this season and is just one point off the bottom of the table.

Also Sunday, Leon de Kogel converted a penalty in the 80th as Utrecht earned a 2-2 draw with Den Haag. Daan Bovenberg also scored for Utrecht, which climbed seven points above the drop zone.

Charlton Vicento and Lex Immers scored for Den Haag, which dropped points at home for the fourth time in six matches, but moved five points above the drop.
