Griner, Johnson arrested in Arizona after dispute

Goodyear, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - WNBA stars Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson were arrested Wednesday and booked into jail following a fight at their home in suburban Phoenix.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, the players were jailed on charges of disorderly conduct-fighting and assault-intent to injure.

The two announced their engagement last August.

Griner led the Phoenix Mercury to the WNBA title last September and was named the league's top defensive player in 2014. Johnson plays for the Tulsa Shock.

"We are aware of the reports out of Phoenix regarding our player, Glory Johnson," Shock team president Steve Swetoha said in a statement Thursday. "Of course, our first concern is for Glory's well-being and health. We are looking into the matter further and have no other comment to make at this time."

The two were released from jail early Thursday morning.
