During Game 3 of the 1932 World Series, Babe Ruth allegedly called his <a href="http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=3218817">"shot"</a>, pointed to the bleachers in center field and blasted a 440-foot home run. The Yankees ended up sweeping the Cubs to capture the title.

It all started with a steal by Dave Roberts in Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS, but it ended with David Ortiz. In two consecutive extra-inning games against the New York Yankees, "Big Papi" hit a <a href="http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7036581">walk-off two-run home run in the 12th inning in Game 4</a> and then hit a <a href="http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7036583">walk-off single in the bottom of the 15th in Game 5</a>. The Cleveland Indians thought they were on the verge of their first World Series title since 1948. The Indians had 2-1 lead against the Florida Marlins going into the bottom of the ninth in Game 7 of the 1997 World Series, but Jose Mesa coughed up the lead. The game went into extras when Edgar Renteria hit a <a href="http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=3251279">walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th</a> to clinch the World Series crown for the Marlins.
