Goldschmidt earns NL Player of Week honors

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has been named National League Player of the Week for games played from April 27-May 3.
Goldschimdt captured his first-ever Player of the Week award after going 15- for-27 with four doubles and an .815 slugging percentage. The two-time All- Star had four three-hit games during the week, including three straight in Arizona's series with Colorado from April 27-29.
St. Louis' Matt Adams, Milwaukee's Ryan Braun, Atlanta's Kelly Johnson, Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Joc Pederson, Miami's Dee Gordon, Cincinnati's Jason Marquis and Washington's Drew Storen also were among those considered for this week's award.
