Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux left Friday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes with a lower left leg injury.

Early in the third period, Giroux went into the right corner in the Carolina end to chase down the puck and got caught up with Justin Faulk.

As Faulk was putting hit left leg down, his skate caught the back of Giroux's left ankle, and it appeared that Giroux was bleeding through his equipment.

Giroux was tended to on the ice by a trainer and eventually taken off the ice and into the locker room.

After the game, though, the team announced that the cut wasn't bad and he will be probable for Saturday's game against New Jersey.

"I'm not a doctor or anything but I got pretty lucky there," said Giroux. "I know I got lucky because that was pretty scary."

He came into the game third in the NHL with 43 points, totaling 13 goals and 30 assists.
