Former Buffalo and Kansas former coach Turner Gill could be a candidate for the opening at Liberty University.
Gill was fired at Kansas on Nov. 27 following his second season. The Liberty job opened on Dec. 6 when head coach Danny Rocco accepted the same position at Richmond.
A News & Advance of Lynchburg reporter who wrote about Gill's possible candidacy at Liberty on Tuesday reported on Twitter that the former Nebraska quarterback was on the campus Wednesday.

Gill had a 5-19 record over the last two seasons at Kansas. He went 20-30 in four seasons from 2006-09 at Buffalo, leading the Bulls to an upset victory against then-undefeated Ball State in the 2008 MAC Championship Game and an appearance in the International Bowl.
Liberty had a 7-4 record and finished second in the Big South Conference this past season.
