Georgetown seeks to build in 2015 campaign

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Georgetown football team's record in the Patriot League might have been deceiving a year ago. At least the Hoyas hope to reinforce that during their 2015 schedule.
Georgetown ended the season by sending out its seniors with a 22-16 win over Holy Cross - its only victory against a Patriot opponent. But the Hoyas' 1-5 league record included a three-point loss at 2013 champ Lafayette, a five-point loss against 2014 runner-up Bucknell and an eight-point loss versus perennial power Lehigh.
In coach Rob Sgarlata's second season, Georgetown will try to turn last year's close losses into wins this year.

The Hoyas will play five of their 11 games at home. Marist (Sept. 12) and Dartmouth (Sept. 19), both non-scholarship FCS programs like Georgetown, will pay visits to Multi-Sport Field as will Patriot scholarship programs Lafayette (Oct. 10), Colgate (Oct. 17) and Fordham (Nov. 14), the 2014 league champion.
Georgetown finished with a 3-8 record in Sgarlata's rookie season.
