Genoa, Empoli share the spoils

Genoa, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Andrea Bertolacci and Lorenzo Tonelli swapped goals on Monday as Genoa and Empoli played to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Coming off a 2-1 win over Parma in their last Serie A encounter on Oct 5, the hosts entered the match hoping to claim a second straight win in league play and things got off to a good start in the 14th minute when Bertolacci found the back of the net.
But Genoa failed to hold the lead and Empoli battled back with an equalizer through Tonelli with 12 minutes to play, extending the newly-promoted side's unbeaten streak in league play to five matches.

The result sees Genoa improve to nine points from seven matches, while Empoli sits in 13th place with seven points from seven games played.
