New York, NY – Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett and Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum were named NBA Players of the Week for games played through April 15.
Garnett helped Boston go 4-1 last week, turning in averages of 20.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He also posted three double-doubles, including a 22-point, 12-rebound evening on April 11 in an 88-86 win over Atlanta.
Bynum aided Los Angeles' perfect 4-0 week, going for 21.8 points, 16.3 boards and 2.0 assists per contest. His top performance happened on April 11 at San Antonio in a 98-84 victory, posting 16 points and 30 rebounds.
Other nominees for the conference honors were Indiana's Danny Granger, Chris Paul of the Clippers, Rudy Gay of Memphis, Denver's Kenneth Faried, and Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks.
