Gabon sanctioned for using ineligible player

FIFA announced Thursday that it has sanctioned the Gabon Football Association for fielding an ineligible player the nation's preliminary competition match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Niger in June.

The player in question was Charly Moussono Moussono, who had played for Cameroon in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in 2006. His participation in the competition with Cameroon made him ineligible to play for any other associaition.

The match has been forfeited and awarded 3-0 result in favor of Niger, a decision that has been made final by FIFA.
