Fox Sports signs 12-year deal to televise US Open beginning in '15
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}America's national golf championship will have a new television home beginning in 2015.
The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced Wednesday that it had reached a 12-year agreement with Fox and Fox Sports 1 to televise the U.S. Open and other USGA championships, including the U.S. Women's Open, U.S. Senior Open and U.S. Amateur championship.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Associated Press reported that the Fox bid was in the range of $100 million per year, more than double the current contract, held by NBC. NBC has televised the U.S. Open since 1995.

This partnership will help us to better lead and serve the game in new and exciting ways."
Under the terms of the agreement, Fox Sports will televise 146 hours of USGA golf, including 70 hours of the U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Senior Open.
The 2015 U.S. Open will be held at Chambers Bay outside Seattle. It will be the first time the course has hosted the event. Other future U.S. Open venues include Oakmont Country Club (2016, 9th U.S. Open), Erin Hills (2017, 1st U.S. Open) Shinnecock Hills (2018, 5th U.S. Open), Pebble Beach (2019, 6th U.S. Open), and Winged Foot (2020, 6th U.S. Open).
