Former Oregon RB Seastrunk transfers to Baylor

Running back Lache Seastrunk, who was released from the Oregon football program this weekend, has joined Baylor.

A release from the school Tuesday said Seastrunk signed a financial aid contract and will join the football program.

Seastrunk is now close to where he went to high school. He starred at Temple High School in Texas -- about 35 miles from Waco -- finished his high school career with 4,127 yards and 52 touchdowns, and was a highly rated prospect.

"I think Lache is back where he needs to be," said Baylor head coach Art Briles, "on Texas soil at Baylor University where he will have the opportunity to get a quality education and play football at the highest level. We're looking forward to him being a great teammate."

Seastrunk redshirted at Oregon in 2010 and was a member of the travel squad, and played in Oregon's spring game this year. But he was battling for a reserve role in the first two weeks of fall camp, and the Oregonian reported Seastrunk was upset with his role in the Ducks' offense. The report said he did not show up for practice Saturday morning.
