New York Giants middle linebacker Jon Beason is going to miss the rest of the season because of a foot injury.
The Giants (3-4) announced Monday that Beason will need surgery to repair his injured right foot. The procedure has not yet been scheduled.
Beason tore a ligament and fractured his sesamoid bone during an OTA workout on June 12. He spent training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list before being added to the active roster prior to the season-opener. Beason's injury limited him to three games. He had been inactive in four the team's last five games and re-aggravated the injury two weeks ago in Philadelphia.
