Florida International edges Louisiana-Monroe 73-72

DeJuan Wright scored 19 points and Jeremy Allen hit a tiebreaking jumper and two free throws in the final minute Sunday as Florida International edged Louisiana-Monroe 73-72.
Louisiana-Monroe led 57-42 with 10:09 remaining after a 13-2 run, but the Panthers (6-7, 1-0 Sun Belt Conference) scored on each of their final 11 possessions.
Allen's basket with 48 seconds remaining broke a 67-67 tie and his free throws gave Florida International a 71-67 lead with 28 seconds left. Eric Frederick added 1 of 2 free throws to make it 72-67.

A jumper with 5 seconds left by Tommie Sykes, who scored 19 points for the Warhawks (4-11, 0-2), cut the lead to 72-69.
Louisiana-Monroe immediately fouled Alex Legion, and he made 1 of 2 for a four-point Panthers lead, 73-69. Legion finished with 14 points.
Lonnell Reeves' 3-pointer with 1 second left gave the Warhawks their final score.
