Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Calgary Flames have placed goaltender Karri Ramo and rookie center Josh Jooris on injured reserve.

Ramo appeared to suffer a head injury during Wednesday's game against Detroit after colliding with teammate Raphael Diaz during the second period of the 3-2 loss. He was making his first start since Dec. 16.

The 28-year-old netminder has a record of 8-5-1 with a 2.67 goals-against average in 16 games this season.

Jooris played 13 minutes in Wednesday's game. He has nine goals and five assists for 14 points in 31 games this season.

The Flames recalled forward Markus Granlund and goaltender Joni Ortio from their American Hockey League affiliate in Adirondack.

Granlund has five goals and eight assists in 29 games for the Flames this season. He had been assigned to the minor league club on Wednesday when Mikael Backlund was activated off injured reserve.

Ortio, who will be the backup to Jonas Hiller, appeared in 10 games for the Flames last season and was 4-5-0 with a 2.84 GAA. He was named an AHL All-Star on Tuesday thanks to a 17-8-1 record and a 2.52 GAA in 27 games with Adirondack.
