Fisher, Strauss help Richmond beat William & Mary, 34-20, keep playoff hopes alive

Michael Strauss threw a pair of touchdown passes and Seth Fisher ran for two more to help Richmond beat William & Mary 34-20 and keep its playoff hopes alive on Saturday night.
Strauss completed 29 of 40 passes for 291 yards with both touchdown passes going to Reggie Diggs, including a 2-yarder with 8:02 left that put the game out of reach. Fisher had 123 yards rushing and his 42-yard scoring run midway through the third quarter broke a 20-all tie and put Richmond (8-4, 5-3 Colonial Athletic Association) ahead for good.
William & Mary (7-5, 4-4) moved the ball with ease for the first three quarters, averaging 7.2 yards per play heading into the fourth.

The Richmond defense stiffened in the final 15 minutes, however, forcing its fifth turnover of the night and limiting the Tribe to minus-20 yards.
