Feds mulling next move in Bonds saga

Federal prosecutors are deciding whether Barry Bonds should stand trial again.
Prosecutors were back to square one Thursday in trying to prove Bonds lied to a grand jury when he testified that he never knowingly took performance-enhancing drugs.
U.S. District Judge Susan Illston declared a mistrial Wednesday on three perjury charges after a jury couldn't reach a unanimous verdict after three weeks of trial.

The jury did convict Bonds of obstruction of justice for giving evasive testimony to the grand jury back in 2003. The judge has scheduled a hearing for May 20 to discuss the government's intentions.
U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag only said a decision will be made as soon as possible.
