Alejandro Falla rallied to beat former champion Philipp Kohlschreiber 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-4 Saturday for a place in the Gerry Weber Open final.

The 69th-ranked Falla saved six of the nine break points he faced before defeating Kohlschreiber, the 2011 winner, in 2 hours, 21 minutes.

Falla is the first Colombian to reach the final of a grass-court tournament. Sunday's final will be only his second overall after finishing runner-up to Ivo Karlovic at Bogota in 2013.

Six-time champion Roger Federer was playing the fourth-seeded Kei Nishikori in the other semifinal later Saturday.
