Falcons' Babineaux agrees to three-year extension

Flowery Branch, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Falcons and defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux have agreed to a three-year contract extension.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Babineaux, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday, has spent his entire nine-year career with the Falcons. He has appeared in 138 games with 108 starts and has compiled 370 tackles with 23 1/2 sacks, three interceptions and 10 fumble recoveries.

The 32-year-old Iowa product was selected by the Falcons in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He notched 49 tackles with one sack in 2013.
