Barcelona, Spain – Former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o withdrew a legal claim Tuesday that sought approximately $4 million from his old club, the Spanish side announced.
Eto'o believed he was owned the money, plus interest, from a transfer to Inter Milan in 2009. The Cameroon striker was sent from Spain to Italy in a swap for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
"FC Barcelona would like to publicly thank Samuel Eto'o, one of the great players of our era, for his willingness to resolve this dispute," the club also said in a statement.
The 31-year-old Eto'o, who played for Barca from 2004-09, currently plays for Russian side Anzhi.
