Palermo, Italy – French Open runner-up Sara Errani defeated Barbora Zahlavova Strycov for her fourth title of 2012 in the final of the $220,000 Italiacom Open.
Errani, 2008 champion and 2009 runner up, won in front of the home crowd as she took down Strycova of the Czech Republic 6-1, 6-3 in just one hour, 14 minutes for her sixth career WTA title.
Errani, the top seed and No. 9 in the world, won 61 percent of her first-serve points to win for the third time in four matchups against eighth-seeded Zahlavova Strycova.
Errani took home $37,000 in the victory.
