Each year, the NHL Entry Draft is the place where several veteran players change addresses. With all 30 general managers in the same building at the same time, it's a convenient time for trades to take place.
NHL.com takes a closer look at the deals that have gone down thus far at the 2011 Entry Draft:
The dealing actually started on Thursday, when Philadelphia made a pair of deals. The Flyers sent center Jeff Carter to Columbus in exchange for forward Jakub Voracek and the Blue Jackets' first-round (No. 8) and third-round (No. 68) selections at the 2011 Entry Draft. The Flyers also sent center Mike Richards, their captain, to Los Angeles in exchange for forwards Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds.

Before the selections began on Friday, Toronto acquired veteran defenseman John-Michael Liles from Colorado in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2012 Entry Draft.
TSN reported that Edmonton will acquire forward Ryan Smyth from the Kings for forward Gilbert Brule and a fourth-round pick. However, Oilers GM Steve Tambellini, speaking on TSN's draft telecast, would not confirm that the deal had been completed.
