Justin Stommes and Spencer Perrin each scored 22 points and Eastern Kentucky defeated Tennessee State 86-72 Saturday night.

The Colonels (12-10, 6-5 Ohio Valley Conference) shot 61.4 percent from the field (27 of 44) and poured in 50 second-half points to pull away from the Tigers (10-11, 7-4). Perrin and Stommes combined to shoot 14 of 20 from the field as Eastern Kentucky won for the seventh time in its last nine games.

Kenny Moore led Tennessee State with 25 points, getting most of his scoring done at the free-throw line, where he was 15 of 17. Robert Covington added 13 points for the Tigers, who lost their second in a row.

Eastern Kentucky led 36-34 at halftime. Tennessee State shot well in the second half (12 of 25 for 48 percent), but couldn't keep pace with the Colonels' shooting (13 of 19 for 68 percent) over the final 20 minutes.
