Mike Smith scored 20 points and grabbed 20 rebounds as East Tennessee State earned its fifth straight victory by defeating Florida Gulf Coast 84-65 Saturday.

Adam Sollazzo also had 20 points for the Buccaneers (9-7, 4-1 Atlantic Sun Conference), but Smith's work on the glass helped East Tennessee State win the rebounding battle 44-29.

An ETSU spokesman said in a release that Smith was the first time a Buccaneer eclipsed 20 points and 20 rebounds since 1959.

Justin Tubbs and Isiah Brown each added 16 for the Buccaneers, who beat the Eagles (3-11, 0-5) for the fourth time in a row. The Eagles lost their fourth straight overall.

Sollazzo did his damage at the free-throw line, where he sank 12 of 13 shots. The Buccaneers made 26 of 34 overall.

Christophe Varidel led Florida Gulf Coast with 12 points, while Kevin Cantinol had 11 and Anthony Banks 10.
