New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf was named the top player in the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the month of December.
Getzlaf led all NHL players with 15 assists and 20 points to help Anaheim enter the new year with 54 points to sit at the top of the standings. He totaled eight multi-point games and recorded a point in 12 of Anaheim's 14 contests.
Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane was named the Second Star. With eight goals and nine assists, he was tied for second in the league with 17 points in December. He scored a pair of game-winning goals, first against Boston on Dec. 11 and then against Minnesota on Dec. 16.
Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Sergei Bobrovsky was named the Third Star. Bobrovsky went 9-1-1 with a 2.14 goals-against average and save percentage of .937. He won seven games in a row to start the month and recorded his 10th shutout, also setting a franchise record with 52 saves in a win against Florida.
