PANTHERS TRADE FOR HOMETOWN PICK
After dumping Jake Delhomme, the Panthers need a new hometown hero and trade New England for a third-round pick to draft Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards at No. 89. The Patriots acquired a 2011 second-round pick from Carolina.
CHARGERS ON THE MOVE AGAIN -- TO REPLACE MERRIMAN?

San Diego trades up 12 spots to take Washington linebacker Donald Butler at No. 79. San Francisco gets the 91st pick, taking Penn State linebacker Navorro Bowman, as well as a sixth-rounder (No. 173) and a fourth-rounder in 2011.
PACKERS GAIN A SAFETY, EAGLES ACCUMULATE PICKS
The Packers pick up safety Morgan Burnett with the No. 71 pick from Philadelphia. The Eagles, meanwhile picked up defensive end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim with the No. 86 pick from Green Bay as well as the 122nd pick in Saturday's fourth round.

COWBOYS, EAGLES STRANGE BEDFELLOWS
The NFC East rivals swing a deal that allows Dallas to move up four spots and draft Penn State linebacker Sean Lee at No. 55. Philly gets the 59th and 125th picks, and sends No. 59 to Cleveland so the Browns can take Tennessee running back Montario Hardesty. The Eagles continue stockpiling picks, adding a third-rounder (No. 71) and two fifth-rounders (134 and 146), and send the third-rounder to Green Bay (the Pack takes Georgia Tech safety Morgan Burnett) for the 86th pick and another fourth-rounder (122). Whew! When they final make another selection, the Eagles draft Washington defensive end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim.

Minnesota trades up 11 spots to draft Stanford running back Toby Gerhart at No. 51. Houston receives the 62nd pick, which it sends to New England, and a third-rounder (93), which it sends to Kansas City. The Chiefs draft Iowa tight end Tony Moeaki.
CARDS JUMP 11 SPOTS FOR FILL DANSBY'S SHOES
Arizona trades up to draft TCU linebacker Daryl Washington at No. 47 and fill the vancancy left by Karlos Dansby's departure. New England gets the 58th pick and a third-rounder (No. 89), then sends No. 58 to Houston for the 62nd pick and a fifth-rounder (150) -- it's the fourth time the Pats have traded down. They settle on Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes, while the Texans take Auburn running back Ben Tate.

BUCS TRADE UP TO BAG BENN
Tampa Bay acquires the 39th pick from Oakland and selects Illinois receiver Arrelious Benn. The Raiders get the 42nd and 153rd picks, and promptly trade down two more spots, sending the No. 42 pick to New England, which picks Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski. Oakland continues to boost its pass rush, taking Texas defensive tackle Lamarr Houston at No. 44.
