The Miami Dolphins terminated the contract of wide receiver Chad Johnson following his arrest for allegedly head-butting his wife during an argument.
Johnson was released from Broward County jail earlier Sunday, one day after his arrest on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.
He posted a $2,500 bond following a court hearing and was also ordered to stay away from his wife, Evelyn Lozada.

According to the Davie police report, Johnson and Lozada were arguing in a vehicle. The argument apparently started when Lozada found a receipt for condoms in the car.
Johnson signed with the Dolphins this offseason after spending last season with the New England Patriots.
The 34-year-old veteran played his first 10 seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals and has 766 career catches for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns.
