Davie, FL – The Miami Dolphins have named Ryan Tannehill the starting quarterback for their season opener Sept. 9 against the Houston Texans.
Tannehill beat out incumbent Matt Moore to get the starting nod.
"This is the best decision we can make at the given time," said first-year head coach Joe Philbin Monday in a press conference.
The Dolphins used the No. 8 overall selection in April's draft to grab Tannehill out of Texas A&M.
