Dodgers place Rodriguez on DL

St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed pitcher Paco Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left elbow.

Rodriguez, a lefty specialist, has allowed three earned runs in 10 1/3 innings over 18 appearances this season for a 2.61 ERA. He has not allowed a run in 15 of his 18 games.

The Dodgers recalled pitcher Matt West from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the roster spot. West, a 26-year-old right-hander acquired from Toronto on May 4, was 1-1 with a 1.46 ERA in 13 minor league games this season.

West made his big league debut last July with Texas and appeared in three games.
