Dodgers' Kemp wins NL weekly honor

Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp has been named the National League Player of the Week for the period ending September 25.
Kemp hit .423 and led the league with nine runs scored in six games. His .923 slugging percentage and 24 total bases were tops among National Leaguers.
The Oklahoma native added three home runs, 11 hits and four doubles to earn his second career weekly award.

Kemp has set career-highs in nearly every offensive category this season while leading the National League in RBI (120), runs scored (112) and total bases (342).
Other noteworthy performances last week included Kemp's teammate Clayton Kershaw, Florida's Emilio Bonifacio, Washington's Danny Espinosa, Mike Morse, Ross Detwiler and Drew Storen, Houston's Carlos Lee, St. Louis' Yadier Molina and Kyle Lohse, Cincinnati's Brandon Phillips and Bronson Arroyo, Cubs catcher Geovany Soto and Arizona's Ian Kennedy and J.J. Putz.
