DOVER, Del. – Desi Washington scored 18 points and Marques Oliver had a double-double as Delaware State knocked off Morgan State 60-55 on Saturday, snapping a seven-game losing streak to the Bears.
Oliver had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Hornets (8-9, 4-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who have won three in a row and five of their last six.
Delaware State led by as many as 15 in the first half and 32-23 at the break, but Morgan State (8-8, 4-1) used a 23-5 run to pull ahead 48-41 with 9:35 to go.
After a Hornets cold spell lasting nearly 4 minutes, Washington converted a three-point play, and Delaware State regained the lead for good at 54-53 with 1:40 to go.
Morgan State did not make a field goal in the final 4:31, missing five shots in the final 16 seconds, to end its three-game winning streak.
Justin Black scored 14 for the Bears and Ameer Ali had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
