Spain coach Vicente del Bosque signed a two- year contract extension Sunday to remain coach of the Euro 2008 and 2010 World Cup champions through the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The 61-year-old Del Bosque took over after Spain won Euro 2008, and helped the team complete a rare double with its first World Cup title in 2010. France and Germany are the only other countries to win consecutive major tournaments.
Germany won Euro 1972 and the 1974 World Cup and France won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000. Spain is trying to become the first squad to win three straight titles.
