"David fits into what we're trying to do. He's bigger than life," Doug Wood, Tommy Bahama's chief executive officer, told The Boston Globe.
"I'm a big baseball fan and when we heard David was retiring it made sense he should be on a special edition. We wanted a piece of that."
The limited edition shirts will debut on March 21 during an autograph event with Ortiz at a Tommy Bahama store and restaurant in Naples, Florida.

The David Ortiz Children's Fund will receive 20 percent of the proceeds from the store that day.
Big Papi will be the first active player on a Tommy Bahama shirt, joining retired Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson and Willie Mays, who were featured on collector's edition gear in the past.
On Ortiz's 40th birthday in November, he announced in a video posted on The Players' Tribune that the 2016 season will be his last.
