Cubs recall P Volstad
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Chicago Cubs have recalled pitcher Chris Volstad from Triple-A Iowa to start Tuesday's game against the Braves.
Volstad was optioned to Iowa on May 18 after going 0-6 with a 7.46 ERA in eight starts to begin the season. The 25-year-old is mired in a 19-start winless streak, with his last victory coming on July 10, 2011 as a member of the Marlins.
The righty went 5-13 with a 4.89 ERA in 29 starts with the Marlins last year and was acquired by the Cubs in the offseason in exchange for pitcher Carlos Zambrano.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}To make room on the roster, Chicago optioned reliever Casey Coleman to Iowa on Tuesday. He went 0-1 with a 7.32 ERA in 16 appearances with the parent club this season.
