The Chicago Cubs have hired former major leaguer David Bell as their third base coach and removed the interim tag from hitting coach James Rowson.
The moves announced Tuesday complete manager Dale Sveum's staff.
Bell, the son of former major leaguer Buddy Bell and grandson of Gus Bell, spent the past four seasons managing and coaching third base in the Cincinnati Reds' minor league system. He replaces the fired Pat Listach.
