Parma, Italy – Parma striker Hernan Crespo confirmed his departure from the Italian club on Friday, with Crespo widely expected to complete a move to India in the coming weeks.
The 36-year-old Crespo announced at a press conference on Friday that he had terminated his contract with the club, although he said that he had not yet made a decision on his next destination.
"It's hard for me because I leave Parma while having played at a high level for 19 years," Crespo said. "I owe it all to the supporters and Parma."
"I have kept my promise in finishing my top-level career here. (Leaving) was not an easy decision, but now I want to have fun."
"I want to clarify that at this time, there are other options. (My agent and I have) discussed the Indian proposal, but nothing is concrete just yet."
Crespo appeared in over 60 games for Argentina during his international career, and has collected a host of trophies over the years while playing for Parma, Chelsea, Inter Milan and AC Milan.
