Irving, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Former New Orleans Saints linebacker Will Herring is heading back to the free agent market.
Herring agreed to a contract to join the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, but the deal fell apart by Friday before Herring had signed.
It was a mutual parting of the ways that had to do with the language of the contract.

Herring will be entering his eighth NFL season and spent the last three with the New Orleans Saints, primarily as a special-teams ace. The 30-year-old previously played four years with the Seattle Seahawks, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2007 draft, from 2007-10.
The Auburn product started six games for the Seahawks in 2009, compiling 46 tackles and one forced fumble that season.
