Courtois extends loan deal at Atletico
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Atletico Madrid agreed to a deal with Chelsea to extend the loan of Belgian international goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for a second season, it was announced Thursday.
Chelsea signed the 20-year-old Courtois last July, then loaned him to Atletico for the season. He played 37 La Liga matches, and helped Atletico capture the Europa League.
Courtois had 15 shutouts, as he filled the void at Atletico left by the switch of David de Gea to Manchester United last summer.
