Commons hits early to lead Celtic past Inverness

Inverness, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Kris Commons scored inside the opening three minutes at the Caledonian Stadium on Sunday to help Celtic get a 1-0 win over Inverness.

The Hoops wasted no time in opening the scoring as Commons played a quick give-and-go with Georgios Samaras before firing a low shot past Dean Brill in the Inverness net.

It proved to be all Celtic would need to collect all three points as Fraser Forster kept a clean sheet for the remaining 87 minutes to guide Neil Lennon's side to its 15th Scottish Premier League win of the season.

Celtic, still unbeaten through 18 league games, stays atop the table by improving to 48 points, moving the club 15 points clear of Inverness.
