Colombia fired manager Leonel Alvarez on Tuesday, ending the former international star's tenure after just over three months.
Alvarez became manager of Colombia in early September, but after a victory at Bolivia to kick off 2014 World Cup qualifying, Colombia tied Venezuela 1-1 and lost to Argentina 2-1 at home.
"This is a unanimous decision, brought about because of the team's recent results and our analysis of reports on their performances," Colombia Football Federation president Luis Bedoya said.

"We thought now was the time to try and put things right."
Colombia is sixth in the nine-team qualifying table in South America. The top four clubs joins host Brazil in the World Cup, while the fifth-place team will face a playoff against the fifth-place Asian team.
Capped over 100 times for Colombia as a player, Alvarez enjoyed a long club career that included stops in Major League Soccer with the Dallas Burn and the New England Revolution.
