Clippers re-sign Billups

The Los Angeles Clippers re-signed point guard Chauncey Billups Friday.

The five-time All-Star averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds through 20 starts for the Clippers last season before suffering a torn Achilles tendon in his left leg on February 6 and missing the remainder of the season.

Billups, who won a championship with the Detroit Pistons in the 2003-04 season, has appeared in 1,002 career games (908 starts) with the Celtics, Raptors, Nuggets, Timberwolves, Pistons, Knicks and Clippers, averaging 15.5 points, 5.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds.

He has also connected on 41.6 percent of his shots from the floor and is a 38.9 percent shooter from beyond the arc during his career.
