Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Boston Celtics rookie guard Marcus Smart is expected to play in Wednesday's game against the Detroit Pistons, the team announced.
Smart, the sixth overall pick in this year's NBA Draft, has been sidelined since Nov. 7 with a sprained left ankle. The former Oklahoma State All- American has missed Boston's last 10 games with the injury.
Prior to being sidelined, Smart averaged 6.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals in five games as Rajon Rondo's backup at point guard.
