Cashner gets out of jam, throws 4 more scoreless innings for Padres in 5-0 win over Rockies
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Andrew Cashner threw four more scoreless innings Monday in the San Diego Padres' 5-0 win over the Colorado Rockies.
In line to start opening day, Cashner hasn't allowed a run or walk in nine innings this spring training. He finished the 2013 regular season with a 16-inning shutout streak.
Cashner gave up at least one hit in every inning, including consecutive singles by Jordan Pacheco and Charlie Blackmon starting the third. But he retired his next three batters, striking out Carlos Gonzalez between groundouts by Michael Cuddyer and Troy Tulowitzki.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Cashner threw 34 of 50 pitches and also singled.
Ryan Jackson hit a two-run homer off Franklin Morales in the second.
Gonzalez had two of Colorado's nine hits.
