Montreal, QC – The Montreal Canadiens inked forward Max Pacioretty to a six-year contract extension on Monday. The deal will keep him in Montreal through the 2018-19 season.
Pacioretty, 23, completed his fourth season in the NHL and led the Canadiens in points with 65, compiling 33 goals and 32 assists in 79 contests. He also received the 2011-12 Bill Masterton Trophy in the NHL for qualities of perseverance and dedication to the game.
Pacioretty missed the last 15 regular season games and playoffs in 2010-11 due to a fractured neck and concussion.
During his career, Pacioretty has compiled 53 goals and 61 assists in 202 games.
