GREENSBORO, N.C. – Kyle Cain scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as UNC Greensboro held on to defeat Chattanooga 88-84 on Sunday.
Ronrico White hit a 3-pointer and made two free throws to pull Chattanooga within two points, 86-84 with 42 seconds to play. Jordan Potts answered for Greensboro with two free throws with 31 seconds left, but Chattanooga missed three 3-point attempts in the closing seconds to end it.
Cain was 7 of 10 from the field and made 9 of 10 free throws. Tevon Saddler scored 13 points and had four steals, and Kayel Locke added 12 points for UNC Greensboro (13-16, 6-8 Southern).
Casey Jones scored 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Chattanooga (16-13, 10-4). Z. Mason had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Mocs.
