C. Conn. State beats Mount St. Mary's (Md.) 71-52

Ken Horton scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds to lead Central Connecticut State to a 71-52 victory over Mount St. Mary's (Md.) on Thursday night.
It was the sixth double-double of the season for Horton, who entered the game leading the Northeast Conference in scoring (18.3) and rebounding (8.3). The Blue Devils (13-7, 6-3), who are 8-1 at home this season, snapped the Mountaineers' three-game winning streak.
Central Connecticut State shot 55.6 percent from the field (15 of 27) to take a 36-23 halftime lead. Mount St. Mary's (7-15, 5-4) shot only 40.9 percent from the floor (9 of 22) in the first half.

The Blue Devils scored the first seven points of the second half to take a 43-23 lead on Robby Ptacek's 3-pointer with 16:01 left.
Shemik Thompson added 16 points and Ptacek finished with 13 for the Blue Devils.
Lamar Trice led Mount St. Mary's with 17 points.
