Hampton, GA – Kyle Busch claimed the pole for Saturday night's Great Clips/Grit Chips 300 after topping the qualifying charts at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Busch, a Sprint Cup Series regular, turned a lap at 180.563 mph for his Nationwide record-extending 33rd career pole, including his seventh this season. Last week at Bristol, Busch won a race in the series for the 60th time. He has yet to win at Atlanta. This will be his 10th start here.
Austin Dillon will share the front row with Busch after posting a lap at 180.445 mph. Trevor Bayne qualified third, followed by Kasey Kahne and Regan Smith.
Points leader Sam Hornish Jr. will start sixth. Hornish holds just a six-point advantage over Dillon. Elliott Sadler is 11 points behind. Sadler will roll off in seventh.
