Bulls' Rose has no structural damage in back

Bulls guard Derrick Rose has no structural damage in his back, according to the results of an MRI performed Monday.

A team spokesman said the reigning NBA MVP, who has missed two straight games with a sore back, remains day-to-day.

Rose has been battling the ailment. He left a lopsided win over New Jersey on February 6 after playing only 11 minutes, then played just 22 minutes in a rout of New Orleans two days later before missing the last two games.

He has also missed time this season because of a toe injury and is averaging 22.0 points, 7.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 23 games.

The Bulls lead the Eastern Conference with a 23-7 record and will begin a six- game homestand Tuesday against Sacramento. They just finished a 6-3 road trip.
