Buffalo defeats Cornell 78-66

Zach Filzen scored 17 points and Byron Mulkey added 16 as Buffalo defeated Cornell 78-66 on Monday night.
The Bulls (8-4) led almost the entire game, falling behind only once — 17-16 on Drew Ferry's 3-pointer with 10:25 to play in the first half. The Big Red (3-10) forced three ties thereafter but never regained the advantage. Mulkey's jumper with 10:27 left gave Buffalo the lead for good at 48-46.
Ferry led Cornell with 18 points while season leading scorer Chris Wroblewski and Errick Peck each contributed 16 points.

Poor shooting hampered the Big Red. They attempted 19 more shots than Buffalo (66-47), but made three fewer shots (25-22). They tried to stay close with an advantage in 3-pointers, with Ferry and Wroblewski each making four.
The Bulls, however, compensated by going inside the 3-point arc, making 19 of 25 (76 percent).
